Application of the AFI to assess environmental effectiveness of AESs in a number of case study areas and investigation into the wider uses of the AFI eg as a policy making tool
(Leader - Dr John Finn, Ireland)

Each workpackage is led by a different partner but draws on input from the whole team.

Groups of local stakeholders will be consulted in WP7, which will test the AFI methodology on a series of case study applications in the seven participating countries.

The project benefits from the advice given by a Panel of National Experts (PONE), a group of senior agri-environmental scientists and AES policy-makers/administrators from 16 Member States. PONE members will provide feedback on the development of the AFI (WP5), to ensure that its methodology is practical, applicable and appropriate to AESs in a wide range of countries.
